Intervention: The Convention is a virtual conference with the aim to intervene at the conventional attitudes surrounding mental health. It creates a space for healthy expression of emotions deemed as negative in society (such as anger, frustration and sadness).
The inspiration for this identity came from living in isolation amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. For the first time, we were all at home, away from family and friends, with so many feelings.
Intended as a virtual conference, the main titles were kept short to maintain a sense of mystery and not overexplain the idea of expressing emotions. To appeal to a younger audience, the copy, colors, and visual elements were made to be fresh, approachable and fun.
The identity utilizes fun, relatable language, and bold colors to appeal to a younger audience. The visual language is borrowed from street signs, computer vocabulary, caution tapes and molecules.
